StellAurator: audiobook recording software for Windows

Turn your manuscript into an audiobook, in your own voice.

You read your book aloud, line by line, and each take is saved under its line. The clicks and breaths are marked under every take, and before you upload, each chapter is measured against ACX.

For Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Free for 7 days. No credit card. Everything is included except exporting the finished audiobook, which needs a plan. Your work stays on your computer. You make your account inside the app.

A Mac version and phone apps are on the way. Get notified when yours is ready.

What you get

Three things the studio does

Your reading, filed under its line

Each line of your book has its own row. When you record a line, the take goes on that row and stays there, with every other take of that line, until you delete one. To fix a sentence, you find its line and read it again. You never scrub through an hour of audio looking for the good take.

Clicks and breaths, marked under each take

A fix for each one is listed under the take. You hear it before and after, then keep it or not. Before you upload, each chapter is measured against ACX’s requirements and gets a pass or a fail.

Your book stays on your computer

Your account holds your email address and your plan. When a plan ends, every book still opens and plays, and nothing is deleted.

Why I built StellAurator

I couldn’t find audiobook software made for authors, so I built it

I’m an author. When I started working on the audiobook for my novel, I realized pretty quickly that none of the software I was finding was actually made for authors. Everything was designed for recording music or podcasts. I wanted something where I could work directly from my manuscript, record my lines, and have everything organized without having to constantly switch between programs. I couldn’t find what I wanted, so I built it myself. That’s how StellAurator came about. It’s the software I built to make my own audiobooks.
